One moment during the build that really stands out to us was an issue with our kitchen cabinetry. On paper the design looked good, but once the cabinets were laid out iti didn’t allow for good flow. Rich and crew called us to come look them over before they set the cabinets. it was a simple change, but made our kitchen so much better.

In May of 2017 We went through a home built by Kloha in the Saginaw parade of homes. We really liked the layout of the home but wanted a few modifications. After looking at several lots we met with Chad on May 17th. We decided to have our new home built in Gatehouse Manor subdivision. We asked Chad if it could be ready for the October parade of homes, he said it could and we signed the contracts.
The construction went well, Rich the project manager was very easy to work with. Rich told us that they were not just building us a house they were building us a home and if it wasn’t good enough for his home it wasn’t good enough for ours. We were kept in the loop every step of the way.
All our questions were answered and we ended up with a beautiful home completed on time. I would recommend Kloha Builders to anyone if you would like a quality-built home.

“When I had my new home built by Chad Kloha’s company back in the spring of 2015 – people would say to me “wasn’t it hard building a home as a single woman?” I said no it was a great experience, because Chad guided me through the whole process, even going with me to pick out the really hard stuff like bathroom equipment, flooring, electrical (lights, etc.) – those are things that could have been a disaster for me if he hadn’t been such a support. His main office in Freeland made things easy for me as it is set up everywhere with different wood and stone trim, interior and exterior door and window styles, tile and cupboards styles as well, so all I had to do was walk through the building and take my pick! I was not hard to please in a lot of those items and I could visualize how they would look in my home so that part was very easy.
The hardest part was waiting for this pretty new home to be built, and I wanted so badly to just get moved in, which ultimately happened in October of that same year.
After the move, and during that first year of living in the new home it is very common for some things to go wrong, and Chad’s people fixed everything in a most timely and proper manner..thank you for that !!”

“When we married, we intended to live on our farm forever. We fixed up the old farm house, purchased adjacent property with a plan to have it paid for and build in 5 years. Then we bought a beautiful piece adjacent to that piece to build our new home.
We spoke to many builders- 4, before Kloha contracting. Chad Kloha met with me, listened to what we wanted: a Craftsman style, single story ranch that was modern but would blend with the woods some with views available in all the major rooms. We wanted something, durable, easy to care and fairly handicap accessible. We plan to stay here forever. We love the outdoors and though we were tired of the maintenance of the 2 story old farm house, we did love the porches, the view of the sunsets our farm and the woods.
Chad listened. He developed a ranch style home with craftsman appeal. This home has an open concept, hardwood flooring and matching trim. The front porch easily accommodates 2 rocking chairs. The back porch is off the kitchen and is easily large enough to eat any meal or sit for coffee in the morning.
Since we farm, our laundry and mudroom areas were very important to us. We have a very large mudroom and a laundry room that any woman would envy.
We were able to pick out all the flooring, pain, cabinets trim. We chose to upgrade on some and we were able pick our own lights. Our friends like our flooring, trim and lights so well they comment on it every time they return. That certainly made this house our own home. Rich Grundas made it easier for me to coordinate what we selected with him. He kept the project on track timewise and within budget. Brad has worked construction for nearly 30 years and did not find anything that was not up to code. Our home is very energy efficient and we were pleasantly surprised about the low electric and propane costs.
I was able to meet all the contractors (we live next door). They were all very personable, professional and very hardworking and reliable. They obviously enjoyed their work. There maintained a clean job site. Everyone involved answered all our many questions readily. The contractors have all commented on what a beautiful home we have. Kloha’s subcontactors do stand behind their warranties and are quick to respond.
Our 10 year plan for a dream home is done. We plan to have Kloha back for some additional projects.

It has been over three (3) years since we moved into our Kloha built home and we just wanted to drop a note to let you know how pleased we are with the result.
Although there are a multitude of things that can (and sometimes do) go wrong during the plan, excavation, build, finish, finance, and supplier selection process, these items have either been minimal or resolved in an expedient fashion and to our satisfaction.
Although the floor plan we initially selected was one of the many “spec” plans you offer, you were more than willing to work with us on the enhancements and upgrades we required that made our home custom to what would suit our individual needs and taste.
We were always kept informed on the status of the build process, expected completion date, and after construction began, how many of our requested upgrades would impact the budget. Especially impressive was your steadfast desire “not to proceed” on any upgrade until the cost/build ramifications were fully understood and agreed to by all. As a result, we were not surprised at the final closing with any hidden or mysterious charges. In fact, down to the penny, the final cost was what we had previously discussed and agreed to.
With respect to the visual features of the home, your suggested contacts of Mark for drywall, Jim & Steve for finish trim work, Greg for flooring, and Dan for sprinkler system, were professional and a pleasure to work with.
In spite of several weather and utility delays, as promised, the home was completed, the final paperwork was signed, and we took possession in less than ninety (90) days.

“Last November, I found myself in a situation where I needed to find a home in Saginaw Township. I had a budget I needed to stick with, and a certain location I needed to be near. I also needed something that would be in ready to move in condition. I started looking at the real estate classifieds and going to a few open houses. After spending a couple months looking, and becoming disappointed it was suggested I look at building with Kloha Contracting, as they had several models in the range I was looking for. I was a bit overwhelmed at the thought of building, but once I went through several of the models, I was hooked. They showed me the different models and suggested different options and customizations that could be done and what they would cost. We narrowed down what I really wanted and then the only decisions were colors! Everything else was included in my base price – the tile floors, wood floors, carpet, bathroom fixtures, even some of the appliances.
My other concern was timing – I had to be in this house quickly. They assured me that it really could happen as fast as I needed – and it did. The Kloha Contracting staff was so nice and helpful.
